The details
Know your pair.
The ASICS GEL NYC ‘Cream Kale’ features an upper inspired by the GEL-NIMBUS 3 and GEL-MC PLUS V, highlighted by off-white mesh with leather overlays in a gleaming metallic silver finish — a familiar detail that references ASICS running style from the early 2000s. Green trim outlines the signature side stripes, matching the shoe’s eyelets and branding hits. A lightweight EVA midsole, borrowed from the GEL-CUMULUS 16, packs GEL cushioning in the forefoot and heel for a smooth and comfortable ride.
The GEL NYC
The GEL-NYC™ sneaker sources inspiration from heritage and modern performance running styles.
Its upper construction references the GEL-NIMBUS® 3 shoe from the early 2000s and blends it with various embellishments from the GEL-MC PLUS™ V design.
The tooling contrasts the upper’s retro influences by using the GEL-CUMULUS® 16 shoe’s tooling system. Through a combination of lightweight foams and GEL® technology inserts, this midsole formation helps create advanced underfoot comfort.
